Is it about the nation of Israel in the book of Isaiah 53? Is it about Jesus?
No
matter whom you see as the suffering servant ( Jews- their nation,
Christians- Jesus) Isaiah 53, justifies the fact that there is a NEED FOR REDEMPTION and, ATONEMENT FOR SIN!!! A great testimony that the law can't justify anybody!
Isaiah 53 v.10 says that the servant "shalt make his soul an offering for sin"
is a very IMPORTANT statement. Jewish people would deny - Jesus to
be the Lamb of God - but would accept the idea of themselves being in
the role of the Lamb saying it is the nation that Isaiah 53 is
talking about!
No matter who you see here as a servant, verse 10
speaks for the NEED to atone for others, to make a guilt offering for
sin in order to justify others. It is believed by Jews that their
nation can justify others ( although Israel is not called innocent)
yet, but the idea that one of their own people -Jesus- called
innocent servant to make a guilt offering for others- is not
accepted. The question is why? I am sure` God would accept only a
perfect 'sacrifice'. Of course not in a sense of a human sacrifice is
Jesus given for us but he offered himself alone by giving up his
life. That makes Him the true Lamb of God.
You would think God
introduced the sacrifices and atonement in the Old Testament as a
past time? No! The need for the atonement was and still there will be!
I
heard a saying, oh, it is because Isa 52 talks about Israel. It is
right, the nation is also mentioned as a servant. But have you ever
tried to notice that Isaiah is talking about two servants? Instead of
writing about who is right -Jews or Christians - it is good to open
the eyes and see both servants presented. It is not so because
Christians decided to 'add up' one extra to justify their believes. The
simple truth is; THERE ARE 2 SERVANTS ISAIAH IS TALKING ABOUT! By the way, talking about Christians... the first Christians were Jews who noticed that Jesus was their Lamb of God.
I
am really excited to talk about suffering servant as God is revealing
so much about who he is and it is not possible I would be keeping
just for myself.
I know that most Jewish people are taught that
suffering servant in Isaiah 53 is talking about their whole nation,
because Isaiah 52 mentioned Israel to be God's servant. I would rather
start a few chapters earlier from Isaiah 49 , that would leave a
better field of understanding with all the details to avoid the
confusion.
I am not denying that Israel is God's servant , he it
is mentioned in the book of Isaiah but there is one thing overlooked
that Isaiah is ALSO clearly talking about a specific servant- the one who is part of that nation, who is presented in a different light comparing to the whole nation.
Both
Is 53, 42, 49 are showing the unique qualities and the mission of
one servant , which can't be a nation. You can see it so clearly;
Is 49. is an example where God is talking about two servants ; one
is Israel by whom Go will be glorified in the future and also talks
about one special servant with the important mission which is ;
"To bring Jacob back to Him" ( to God) and "To raise up the tribes of Jacob,
And to restore the preserved ones of Israel." v.5-6
Isaiah 49; 3 says "Thou art my servant, O Israel, in whom I will be glorified."
Isaiah 49;5-6 explain how will Israel be glorified by the mission of the servant who will restore the nation;
( the tribes of Jacob) and also will be a light to the Gentiles,
Isaiah 49;6 says ;
5)“And now the Lord says,
Who formed Me from the womb to be His Servant,
To bring Jacob back to Him,
So that Israel is gathered to Him
(For I shall be glorious in the eyes of the Lord,
And My God shall be My strength),
6 )Indeed He says,
‘It is too small a thing that You should be My Servant
To raise up the tribes of Jacob,
And to restore the preserved ones of Israel;
I will also give You as a light to the Gentiles,
That You should be My salvation to the ends of the earth.’”
So that 'servant' can't be Israel as his mission is to "raise up the tribes of Jacob,
and to restore the preserved ones of Israel!!!!"
Another
very important fact that speakes for the servant who is not the
nation of Israel - is chapter 53 , with words of Isaiah in v.8.
Looking closely at the verse 8 we see that the prophet Isaiah is explaining that his people are the ones for whom 'the servant' was punished:,
v. 8” (...)for the transgression of MY PEOPLE he was punished “
look closely at the following words;
(...) OF MY PEOPLE (...)
If the prophet is saying that the servant is punished for the sin 'of his people'
that means he is punished for the people to whom Isaiah belonged.
You can see clearly that the servant is not the nation of Israel! Israel is also a nation for whom the servant -from Isaiah 53 -suffered!
The third important fact speaking for 2 servants in the prophets is; that one
is presented as the righteous one and innocent , while the other disobeying God.
The
righteous one, the innocent is mentioned to suffer for others to
justify them ( also Isa 42 ;1-9; Isa 50; 4-10, Isa 52 v.13
till Isaiah 53), while the disobedient servant is suffering FOR
THEIR OWN SIN. [ Isa 42;18-25, Isa 50;1, Isa 51;17-22, Isa 9;7, also Ezekiel 39;23 ]
examples;
Is 42;1-9 ( the servant God is pleased with)
"Behold my servant, whom I uphold,
my chosen, in whom my soul delights;
I have put my Spirit upon him;
he will bring forth justice to the nations.
2 He will not cry aloud or lift up his voice,
or make it heard in the street;
3 a bruised reed he will not break,
and a faintly burning wick he will not quench;
he will faithfully bring forth justice.
4 He will not grow faint or be discouraged
till he has established justice in the earth;
and the coastlands wait for his law."
The servant In Isaiah 42;1-9 is the one whom God honors and esteems AND HE IS GOING TO BRING JUSTICE TO THE NATIONS, INCLUDING ISRAEL. (READ BELOW)
Examples from Isaiah and Ezekiel and other prophets; where God rebukes the other unfaithful servant and calls to repentance and gives reasons for the suffering
Isaiah 50;1
"Thus
saith the Lord (...) Behold, for your iniquities have ye sold
yourselves, and for your transgressions is your mother put away."
Ezekiel 39; 23 " And the heathen shall know that the house of Israel WENT INTO CAPTIVITY BECAUSE OF THEIR INIQUITY
: because they trespassed against me, therefore hid I my face from
them, and gave them into the hand of their enemies: so fell they all by
the sword. 24 According to their uncleanness and according to their
transgressions have I done unto them, and hid my face from them. "
Isaiah 51;17 -22 KJV
17 Awake, awake, stand up, O Jerusalem, which hast drunk at the hand of the Lord the cup of his fury;
thou hast drunken the dregs of the cup of trembling, and wrung them
out. 18 There is none to guide her among all the sons whom she hath
brought forth; neither is there any that taketh her by the hand of all
the sons that she hath brought up. 19 These two things are come unto
thee; who shall be sorry for thee? desolation, and destruction, and the
famine, and the sword: by whom shall I comfort thee? 20 Thy sons have
fainted, they lie at the head of all the streets, as a wild bull in a
net: they are full of the fury of the Lord, the rebuke of thy God. 21
Therefore hear now this, thou afflicted, and drunken, but not with wine:
22 Thus saith thy Lord the Lord, and thy God that pleadeth the cause of
his people, Behold, I have taken out of thine hand the cup of
trembling, even the dregs of the cup of my fury; thou shalt no more
drink it again":
A clear conclusion is that Israel's suffering has been as the result of their disobedience.
Isaiah 53 is not the only chapter that is showing completly different servant who is NOT suffering for his own sin because he is innocent.
MORE EXAMPLES;[Isa 42 ;1-9; Isa 50; 4-10, Isa 52 v.13 till Isaiah 53]
Isaiah 53
The servant who is suffering for others is innocent one;
v.9 "and they made his grave with the wicked...(...) ALTHOUGH HE HAD DONE NO VIOLENCE AND THERE WAS NO DECEIT IN HIS MOUTH .
v.8. Isaiah says; punished for transgressions "of MY PEOPLE "
v.5 "wounded for our transgressions"
Notice
that no matter who would be speaking here, Isaiah himself or the
nations, it still includes us ALL , transgressions THAT ARE OURS "
including the nation of Israel.
v.8 clearly states; the servant lost his life; he was "cut off out of the land of the living" and "he made his grave with the wicked, and with the rich in his death"
v.12 " he poured out his life unto death"
v.11 " He shall justify many (..) — means he will acquit them from
the guilt of their sins, and all the dreadful consequences thereof.
Questions;
If you would still insist that it is a nation to justify others, the question is; who will be justified?
First off all how can the nation that needs the redemption themselves - justify others???
Isa 42;18-25 Why would be God saying that?
"Who
is blind, but my servant? or deaf, as my messenger that I sent? who is
blind as he that is perfect, and blind as the Lord's servant? 20 Seeing
many things, but thou observest not; opening the ears, but he heareth
not. 21 The Lord is well pleased for his righteousness' sake; he will
magnify the law, and make it honourable. 22 But this is a people robbed
and spoiled; they are all of them snared in holes, and they are hid in
prison houses: they are for a prey, and none delivereth; for a spoil,
and none saith, Restore. 23 Who among you will give ear to this? who
will hearken and hear for the time to come? 24 Who gave Jacob for a
spoil, and Israel to the robbers? did not the Lord, he against whom we
have sinned? for they would not walk in his ways, neither were they
obedient unto his law. 25 Therefore he hath poured upon him the fury of
his anger, and the strength of battle: and it hath set him on fire round
about, yet he knew not; and it burned him, yet he laid it not to
heart."
I will finish with a question; Why is
righteous Jesus still denied to atone for others ? Why is the
righteous Jesus denied as a Redeemer but the nation allowed to be put in
the role of the redeemer -if you believe Isaiah 53 to be about the
nation- the nation that is also called to repentance along with
Gentiles?
If Jesus wasn't the Son of God , God
would not restore Him back to life as Jesus would die for the false
testimony according to the words " the wages of sin is death". Yet,
He is risen!!!
Jesus the true Messiah
"And behold, One like the Son of Man, Coming with the clouds of heaven! He came to the Ancient of Days, And they brought Him near before Him. Then to Him was given dominion and glory and a kingdom, That all peoples, nations, and languages should serve Him. His dominion is an everlasting dominion, Which shall not pass away, And His kingdom the one Which shall not be destroyed." Daniel 7;13-14

God’s Amazing Story of Redemption & Atonement
Jesus the Lamb of God -our Chief Priest – God’s Servant,
Mediator of the New Covenant- King of Righteousness , our Atonement for
sin.
When Jesus is called the Lamb of God in John 1:29 and John 1:36, it is referring to Him as the perfect and ultimate sacrifice for sin.
In order to understand who Christ was and what He did, we must begin with the Old Testament, which contains prophecies concerning the coming of Christ as a “guilt offering” (Isaiah 53:10). In fact, the whole sacrificial system established by God in the Old Testament set the stage for the coming of Jesus Christ, who is the perfect sacrifice God would provide as atonement for the sins of His people (Romans 8:3; Hebrews 10)
It is through His death on the cross as God’s perfect sacrifice for sin and His resurrection three days later that we can now have eternal life if we believe in Him. The fact that God Himself has provided the offering that atones for our sin is part of the glorious good news of the gospel that is so clearly declared in 1 Peter 1:18-21:
“For you know that it was not with perishable things such as silver or gold that you were redeemed from the empty way of life handed down to you from your forefathers, but with the precious blood of Christ, a lamb without blemish or defect. He was chosen before the creation of the world, but was revealed in these last times for your sake. Through him you believe in God, who raised him from the dead and glorified him, and so your faith and hope are in God.”
While the idea of a sacrificial system might seem strange to us today, the concept of payment or restitution is still one we can easily understand. We know that the wages of sin is death (Romans 6:23) and that our sin separates us from God. We also know the Bible teaches we are all sinners and none of us is righteous before God (Romans 3:23). Because of our sin, we are separated from God, and we stand guilty before Him. Therefore, the only hope we can have is if He provides a way for us to be reconciled to Himself, and that is what He did in sending His Son Jesus Christ to die on the cross.
Hebrew 7;24-25
“But He ( Jesus) , because He continues forever, has an unchangeable priesthood. Therefore He is also able to save to the uttermost those who come to God through Him, since He always lives to make intercession for them.”
Hebrew 8;1 “We have such an high priest, who is set on the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in the heavens”
v.6 “But now hath He ( Jesus ) obtained a more excellent ministry, by how much also He is the mediator of a better covenant, which was established upon better promises.”
v.8 -9 “Behold, the days come, saith the Lord, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah:
Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day when I took them by the hand to lead them out of the land of Egypt; because they continued not in my covenant, and I regarded them not, saith the Lord.
For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, saith the Lord; I will put my laws into their mind, and write them in their hearts: and I will be to them a God, and they shall be to me a people”v.12 “For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their iniquities will I remember no more.”
Luke 22;20 “After the supper he took the cup, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in my blood, which is poured out for you.”
Hebrew 9;11-15
“But Christ being come an high priest of good things to come, by a greater and more perfect tabernacle, not made with hands, that is to say, not of this building;
Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood he entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us.
For if the blood of bulls and of goats, and the ashes of an heifer sprinkling the unclean, sanctifieth to the purifying of the flesh:
How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?
And for this cause he is the mediator of the new covenant, that by means of death, for the redemption of the transgressions that were under the first covenant, they which are called might receive the promise of eternal inheritance.”
Hebrew 9;24-25
“For Christ did not enter a sanctuary made with human hands that was only a copy of the true one; he entered heaven itself, now to appear for us in God’s presence. Nor did he enter heaven to offer himself again and again, the way the high priest enters the Most Holy Place every year with blood that is not his own.
v.26-28 ” (…) But he has appeared once for all at the culmination of the ages to do away with sin by the sacrifice of himself. 27 Just as people are destined to die once, and after that to face judgment, 28 so Christ was sacrificed once to take away the sins of many; and he will appear a second time, not to bear sin, but to bring salvation to those who are waiting for him.”
“The blood of goats and bulls and the ashes of a heifer sprinkled on those who are ceremonially unclean sanctify them so that
they are outwardly clean. How
much more, then, will the blood of Christ, who through the eternal
Spirit offered himself unblemished to God, cleanse our consciences from
acts that lead to death, so that we may serve the living God!”
Christ- the lamb of God - died to make atonement for sin and to pay the penalty of the sins of all who believe in Him.
When Jesus is called the Lamb of God in John 1:29 and John 1:36, it is referring to Him as the perfect and ultimate sacrifice for sin.

Jesus the true prophet of God
How can the Jewish people recognize the true prophet.?
Part 1.
There is nobody recorded in Old Testament Scriptures who wouldn’t walk with God and then had power to bring life back !
The only people who were walking with God and had that power to resurrect others in the Old Testament Scriptures are Elijah and Elisha .
They both were MAN OF GOD.
The woman of resurrected son by Elijah said to him ; “Now by this I know that thou art a MAN OF GOD , and that the word of the LORD in thy mouth is truth”
Elijah ( who was given power to raise the dead ) is one of 2 men recorded in OT who never died ( next to Enoch), Elijah was taken to heaven , that indicates he had to be a man of God.
We can conclude based on these two people that power of resurrection was given to them by God.
A man resurrected by touching Elisha ‘s bones. ( Elisha had to be a MAN OF GOD). Elisha was dead so he could not resurrect the man on his own.
Resurrection – bringing the life back was only under permission of God as it is God who has dominion over life and death.
Our conclusion; if Jesus wasn’t the MAN OF GOD He would not be able to resurrect Lazarus, and the other people He did Also lots of people wouldn’t be resurrected at Jesus’ crucifixion (Matthew 27:52-53 .
If the only people who could resurrect others were Man of God ( Old Testament) , also Jesus had to be a Man of God, or else He wouldn’t have been granted a power of resurrection.
The other important fact is ;
God would not support a false prophet and grant him life back. God would not resurrect Jesus if Jesus wasn’t a Man of God as the wages of sin is death and Jesus would die for a false testimony. Yet , He was back to life testifying , He is trully a Son of God.
Examples; New Testament ,
Jesus resurrects the widow’s son at Nain
Luke 7:13-15 (KJV)
13 And when the Lord saw her, he had compassion on her, and said unto her, Weep not.
14 And he came and touched the bier: and they that bare him stood still. And he said, Young man, I say unto thee, Arise.
15 And he that was dead sat up, and began to speak. And he delivered him to his mother.
Jesus raises Jairus’ daughter from the dead
Matthew 9:25 (KJV)
25 But when the people were put forth, he went in, and took her by the hand, and the maid arose.
See also Mark 5:42, and Luke 8:55
Jesus raises Lazarus from the dead
John 11:43-44 (KJV)
43 And when he thus had spoken, he cried with a loud voice, Lazarus, come forth.
44 And he that was dead came forth, bound hand and foot with graveclothes: and his face was bound about with a napkin. Jesus saith unto them, Loose him, and let him go.
Many saints resurrected at Jesus’ crucifixion
Matthew 27:52-53 (KJV)
52 And the graves were opened; and many bodies of the saints which slept arose,
53 And came out of the graves after his resurrection, and went into the holy city, and appeared unto many.
…………………..
Part 2.
Prophecy about the prophet to come in the name of the Lord. Deut 18;15-22
Deut 18;15-22 is giving the message to expect a prophet one day so that people would hear what God is saying to them through the man He would send;
v.16 ” According to all that thou desires of the Lord (……) Let me not hear again the voice of the Lord my God, neither let me see this great fire any more, that I die not.”
People were said to listen to this prophet’s words “(…)unto him ye shall hearken.” v.15
God said about him; ” I will put my words in his mouth; and he shall speak unto them all that I shall command him.”
God also said that “the prophet, which shall presume to speak a word in my name, which I have not commanded him to speak” – he shall die.
God said that they would recognize the prophet who speaks in the name of the Lord based on fulfilled words , he would say the things that would happen.
” (…) if the thing follow not, nor come to pass, that is the thing which the Lord hath not spoken. v .22
a) Jesus is testifying that he is the true prophet fulfilling the following words; “I will put my words in his mouth(…)” Deut 18;18
Jesus said; “Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? the words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself:
but the Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works.” John 14;10 -speaking the words God gave him.
“For I have not spoken of myself; but the Father which sent me, he gave me a commandment, what I should say, and what I should speak. And I know that his commandment is life everlasting: whatsoever I speak therefore, even as the Father said unto me,so I speak.” John 12;49
b) If the prophet was speaking the words the God didn’t command him , he was supposed to die.
Jesus was killed because Jews didn’t believe him, yet he was resurrected by God on the 3rd day. The false prophet would die and would NOT be brought back to life. In order to cover the fact of resurrection at that time , Jewish leaders came out with a false statement that Jesus ‘s body was stolen. (Matthew 28;11-15)
c) The true prophet would say things that would come to pass;
“For he taught his disciples, and said unto them , The Son of man is delivered into the hands of men, and they shall kill him; and after that he is killed , he shall rise the third day.” Mk 9;31 ( it happened exactly like Jesus said; he was killed and on the 3rd day rose back to life)
Another example ; Jesus said; “But after I am risen again, I will go before you into Galilee.” Matthew 26;32
Then He fulfilled his words after his resurrection;
“Do not be afraid. Go and tell my brothers to go to Galilee; there they will see me.” Matthew 28;10
Jesus said to Peter ;”(…) Very truly I tell you, before the rooster crows, you will disown me three times!” John 13;38
Which was fulfilled in Matthew 26; 69-75
v.69-70.”Now Peter was sitting out in the courtyard, and a servant girl came to him.
“You also were with Jesus of Galilee,” she said.
70 But he denied it before them all. “I don’t know what you’re talking about,” he said.’
v.75 “And Peter remembered the word of Jesus, which said unto him, Before the cock crow, thou shalt deny me thrice. And he went out, and wept bitterly.”
Matthew 24 Jesus talks about the destruction of the temple in Jerusalem, which happened 70 AD.
“(…) I leave the world, and go to the Father.” John 16;28
and it happened recorded in Acts 1;9-10
” After he said this, he was taken up before their very eyes, and a cloud hid him from their sight.
They were looking intently up into the sky as he was going, when suddenly two men dressed in white stood beside them. 11 “Men of Galilee,” they said, “why do you stand here looking into the sky? This same Jesus, who has been taken from you into heaven, will come back in the same way you have seen him go into heaven.”
Here are just a few examples as a proof that Jesus is the true prophet.
God’s words didn’t cease with the last book of the Old Testament . There has been NO silence for 2000 years as God has been speaking through HIS SON JESUS.
Part 1.

53 And came out of the graves after his resurrection, and went into the holy city, and appeared unto many.

Part 2.
Prophecy about the prophet to come in the name of the Lord. Deut 18;15-22
Deut 18;15-22 is giving the message to expect a prophet one day so that people would hear what God is saying to them through the man He would send;
v.16 ” According to all that thou desires of the Lord (……) Let me not hear again the voice of the Lord my God, neither let me see this great fire any more, that I die not.”
(Matthew 28;11-15)
c) The true prophet would say things that would come to pass;
Then He fulfilled his words after his resurrection;

Why do we need the Messiah?
Rabbi Zalman Shmotkin wrote to me recently;
Because of the unrest in the Middle East ' Many feel helpless. High school and college students have been writing to us at Chabad.org with a sense of worry and dread: Your world is coming apart, their screens scream at them. We feel helpless, they emote. How do we cope, they ask. '
But we are not hopeless as we have the promises of our God. We have hope in our Savior.
Isaiah 1;18 says;"“Come now, let us settle the matter,”
says the Lord.
“Though your sins are like scarlet,
they shall be as white as snow;
though they are red as crimson,
they shall be like wool."
One of the greatest things that has ever been done for us happened in Jerusalem and it is the work Jesus ( our Savior) did for you on the cross 2000 years ago!
The Son of God came down to pay the price for our sin by shedding His blood and His forgiveness is available for everybody who accepts it. This is our Messiah who loves us and covers our sins by His blood.
We wonder why there is no peace in this world now?
No man can live in a 'paradise'. God won't live among people who are sinners and constantly disobey Him.
Therefore He set a plan of redemption for us to set us free from sin so that His presence would dwell among us one day.

No man can live in a 'paradise'. God won't live among people who are sinners and constantly disobey Him.
Therefore He set a plan of redemption for us to set us free from sin so that His presence would dwell among us one day.
We need a Savior! His involvement in our lives is what can change our hearts! This is what God promised through different prophets that one day He would send a Redeemer. A Savior whose mission is not just to create a 'peaceful world' with sinful people who are dying but with people whose hearts will be transformed by God's love and they can expect resurrection into life with God one day ( like David who had hope of it.).
As`soon as the sin entered the world, Adam and Eve were removed from a paradise. Death entered the world and other bad things we know as the result of sin. The only way to be free from eternal death is through the promised Redeemer. We can't limit the Savior to the earthly things only. What is He going to accomplish is much more than gathering all Israel into their land, building the Temple and bringing peace on earth.
There is a prophecy that the woman's offspring would destroy the devil; Genesis 3;15
"And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel."
There is a promise about the end of death;
Isaiah 25;8 "He will swallow up death in victory; and the Lord God will wipe away tears from off all faces; and the rebuke of his people shall he take away from off all the earth: for the Lord has spoken it."
Isaiah 65;17 "For, behold, I create new heavens and a new earth: and the former shall not be remembered, nor come into mind."
God is the God of love and justice. He didn't create us with the purpose of life for a short time He is the author of everlasting life and created us for the fellowship with Him. We are created for a purpose. Our earthly life is to get to know Him! Only He offers us the way out of sin and out of eternal death!!
That is why Christ's accomplishments are beyond the earthly things!
Even David was holding to God of fellowship and to hope of everlasting life. David knew that the things God was going to accomplish through Christ were more than expectations relating to earthly life.
Psalm 37;28
"For the LORD loves the just and will not forsake his faithful ones. They will be protected forever, but the offspring of the wicked will be cut off;"
Psalm 41;13
"Because of my integrity you uphold me and set me in your presence forever."
Psalm 49;16 "But God will redeem my life from the grave; he will surely take me to himself."
God put eternity in our hearts because`He created us with the purpose so that we would live with Him forever. But not in our sinful nature. We need a Redeemer who will set us free from our sin. About our Redeemer God has been telling throughout the centuries through different prophets.
God's grace is free but it cost God a lot to pay for our redemption. He gave us His Son to pay the price of our sin or else would be all a subject to His judgement. Sending a Savior wasn't costless.
We usually imagine a Savior as a great mighty hero a great politician who will impose his power over sinful people and force them to be good. It is not like that. God doesn't force people, He wants a change of heart. A Savior is to deal with our sinful heart. First- redemption from sin, before we can expect any peaceful future God is talking about in the Scriptures!
We have to be forgiven and start with a clean new heart!
Christ was to take the penalty for our sin and that is what he did!
Do we have a right to reject the only one person in the history that manifested power over death and life witnessed by thousands? Many hide behind the words " he is just not ours to consider" yet thousands of people all over the world accept Christ's forgiveness and find peace in heart. Christ is real!
Isaiah 53 talks about God's Savior for us ;
"He shall see of the travail of his soul, and shall be satisfied: by his knowledge shall my righteous servant justify many; for he shall bear their iniquities."
It says ' he shall justify many, he shall bear their iniquities
V 12." (...)numbered with the transgressors, and He bore the sin of many,and made intercession for the transgressors."
God is not going to put up with peoples sin forever. Those who are rejecting His forgiveness, they will be a subject to judgement. God is holy and will judge every sin. But God is also love and mercy and knows that nobody would stood up righteous before Him. That is why He is giving us a Savior to redeem us from our sin. His Son has already paid a high price to buy us out. He paid the high price by death for us, as the wages of sin is death.
As already Genesis 3;15 foretold, the woman's offspring - the promised Savior-will get wounded while conquering the evil;
"(...)it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel"
God said ' Now is the time of salvation"
In all the religions of the world -what differs all 'man-made up' gods from the real one God is " The true one God sent a Savior to rescue the mankind and confirmed Christ coming in hundreds prophecies in the Biblical Scriptures written in the period over 1000 years before Christ came.
Christ said; " He that rejects me, and receives not my words, has one that judges him: the word that I have spoken, the same shall judge him in the last day." (John 12;48)
"He that believes on the Son has everlasting life: and he that believes not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abides on him." (John 3;36)

JERUSALEM THE CITY OF A GREAT KING
THE REBUILDING OF THE CITY OF JERUSALEM
Jerusalem as it
is today
|
"The Lord loveth the gates of Zion more then all the dwellings of Jacob, glorious things are spoken of thee O city of God". Psalm 87v2and
" Beautiful for situation the joy of the whole earth is mount Zion, on the sides of the north. The city of the great King". Psalm 48v2Thus Jerusalem is to be the joy of the whole earth, not just of Israel. Jesus Christ is of course that great King who will reign from Jerusalem 'unto the ends of the earth'. Great, glorious and mighty will be his reign. The City that saw his humiliation, suffering and death, is destined to be the seat of his throne. But much restoration work will need to be done, indeed a complete rebuilding of the city will take place to turn it into a fit habitation for the King and the Temple of God. The intense bombardment of Jerusalem by Israel's Gentile enemies immediately prior to the appearance of Jesus Christ upon the Mount of Olives will have reduced most of the buildings to ruins, and the great earthquake, which occurs as the Lord and his hosts arrive upon the scene, will effectively destroy what remains:
"And it shall come to pass in that day, when Gog shall come against the land of Israel, saith the Lord God that my fury shall come up into my nostrils. For in my jealousy and in the fire of my wrath have I spoken. Surely in that day there shall he a great shaking in the land of Israel; so that the fishes of the sea, and the fowls of the heaven, and the beasts of the field and all creeping things that creep upon the earth and all men that are upon the face of the earth, shall shake at my presence, and the mountains shall be thrown down, and the steep places shall fall and every wall shall fall to the ground. (Ezek 38.18-20).Just when Israel's enemies think they have gained the upper hand and can accomplish their aim of destroying the state of Israel forever, the Lord shall intervene:
"Then shall the Lord go forth, and fight against those nations, as when he fought in the day of battle. (When Israel first took the land under Joshua -- a type of Christ). And his feet shall stand in that day upon the mount of Olives, which is before Jerusalem on the east, and the mount of Olives shall cleave in the midst thereof toward the east and toward the west and there shall be a very great valley; and half of the mountain shall remove toward the north, and half of it toward the south. And ye shall flee by the valley of my mountains; for the valley of the mountains shall reach unto Azel. Yea, ye shall flee, Like as ye fled from before the earthquake in the days of Uzziah king of Judah: and the Lord my God shall come, and all the holy ones with thee." (Zech 14.3-5).Thus will the Lord clear Jerusalem of its multiplicity of churches, chapels, shrines and holy places. The earthquake will completely change the topography of the whole area, raising it to a higher altitude and preparing the site for the construction of an entirely new and glorious city. A city that will be a worthy capital for its Great King the Lord Jesus Christ:
"Great is the Lord, and highly to be praised in the city of our God, in his holy mountain. Beautiful in elevation the joy of the whole earth, is mount Zion on the sides of the north the city of the great King"... .. . "As we have heard so have we seen in the city of the Lord of Hosts, in the city of our God: God will establish it for ever" ..... "Let mount Zion be glad let the daughter of Judah rejoice, because of thy judgements. Walk about Zion and go round about her: tell the towers thereof. Mark ye well her bulwarks, consider her palaces; that ye may tell it to the generation following. For this God is our God for ever and ever: He will be our guide even unto death." (Psalm 48.1-2,8,11-14).The Kingdom of Israel under Solomon was immensely wealthy and powerful. Solomon ruled wisely with the wisdom given to him by God. He became so rich that silver was considered a common thing and all was made of Gold. Solomon traded with the nations about him and they sought audience with him to hear his wisdom. During his time the Kingdom of Israel stretched to it's furthest limits and was the most powerful nation and exerted it's influence upon the surrounding nations. Solomon built the Temple of God and during his reign the whole nation was at peace. Indeed Jerusalem is the city of peace. There is no peace now for that city but the time of Solomon was a type of what was and is to come. Such will be the renown of Jerusalem under the wise rule of the 'Prince of Peace' we read:
"And strangers shall build up thy walls, and their kings shall minister unto thee: for in my wrath I smote thee, but in my favour have I had mercy on thee"... "The glory of Lebanon shall come unto thee, the fir tree, the pine, and the box tree together: to beautify the place of my sanctuary, and I will make the place of my feet glorious. And the sons of them that afflicted thee shall come bending unto thee; and all they that despised thee shall bow themselves down at the soles of thy feet; and they shall call thee The City of the Lord, The Zion of the Holy One of Israel" ... "For brass I will bring gold and for iron I will bring silver, and for wood brass, and for stones iron: I will also make thy officers peace, and thine exactors righteousness. Violence shall no more be heard in thy land desolation nor destruction within thy borders; but thou shalt call thy walls Salvation, and thy gates Praise. The sun shall be no more thy light by day; neither for brightness shall the moon give light unto thee: but the Lord shall be unto thee an everlasting light and thy God thy glory." (Isaiah 60.10-19).Jerusalem will indeed be a holy city, the Temple will be rebuilt to be a 'house of prayer for all nations'. God will accomplish through Jesus Christ all that he has promised:
"For Zion's sake will I not hold my peace, and for Jerusalem's sake I will not rest until her righteousness go forth as brightness, and her salvation as a lamp that burneth. And the nations shall see thy righteousness, and all kings thy glory: and thou shalt be called by a new name, which the mouth of the Lord shall name." (Isaiah 62.1-2).So many religions now in the world so many false God's and false idea's. Man has always sought his own way to salvation and neglected God's way. Jeremiah records that the heart of man is deceitful above all things and that it is not in the way of man to guide his own footsteps. Man was created for a purpose to serve and honour his Creator, this he has singularly failed to do. But in the Kingdom age with Jesus as a righteous King God's will and law will indeed again be done on the earth:
"At that time they shall call Jerusalem the throne of the Lord; and all the nations shall be gathered unto it, to the name of the Lord, to Jerusalem: neither shall they walk any more after the stubbornness of their evil heart" (Jeremiah 3.17).
Other Prophecies on this subject:
Psalm 51:18-19; 69:34-36; 78:65-69; 102:11-16; 147:1-2,12-13; Isaiah 14:32; 29:1-6; 33:20-21; 52:1-3,7-10; 61:3-4; 62:6-12; 65:17-23; Jeremiah 31:38-40; 33:7-13,16; Joel 3:16-17,20-21; Zephaniah 3:14-20; Zechariah 1:14-17; 2:4-13; Malachi 3:4

“The greatest work done in Jerusalem”
“The greatest work done in Jerusalem”
One
of the greatest things that has ever been done for all people
happened in Jerusalem and it is the work Jesus did for you on
the cross 2000 years ago!
The Son of God came down to pay the price of our sin and His forgiveness is available for everybody who believes.
We all need reconciliation with God through His Son who paid our price.
The Son of God came down to pay the price of our sin and His forgiveness is available for everybody who believes.
We all need reconciliation with God through His Son who paid our price.
Prophet Isaiah talks about the 'suffering servant'( v.8 ) that;
'for transgressions of MY People he was punished!
'for transgressions of MY People he was punished!
Salvation was always by grace, not by good works.
Abraham and Noah were saved by faith, born before the law was given to Moses.
Abraham and Noah were saved by faith, born before the law was given to Moses.
As we read in Romans 8;1 “Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.”
Jesus said;”I tell you the truth, whoever hears my word and believes Him who sent me has eternal life and will not be condemned , but he has crossed over from death to life.” John 5;24 The work Jesus did for you is the salvation work that gives you access to God and eternal life!
Prophecy about Savior's’ birth;
Isaiah 9;6“ For to us a child is born, to us a son is given and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.”
Matthew 1 starts with words; ” The book of genealogy of Jesus Christ , the Son of David, the Son of Abraham.”
The promise that was made to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, founders of the Jewish family, a promise later renewed to Kind David, that one of their descendants would reign over the nations forever ( see Gen 28;14, 2 Sam7;16) Yeshua fit the prophet’s description in every detail and was hailed by thousands of Jews a Messiah. ( John 19;38-39, Acts 6;7)
In Matthew 1;20-23 we read what an angel said Mary ” that she will bring forth a Son and that His name will be Jesus and that He will save His people from sins” v.22 ” So all this was done that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the Lord through the prophet , saying; ” Behold the virgin shall be with child, and bear a Son, and they shall call His name Immanuel, which is translated ‘God with us”. Prophecy already fulfilled from Isaiah7;14
Other facts;
Jesus knew that he would be killed in Jerusalem and that he would rise again on the third day;
Luke 18;31-33
Jesus took the Twelve aside and told them, “ We are going up to Jerusalem and everything that is written by the prophets about the Son of Man will be fulfilled. He will be handed over to the Gentiles . They will mock him, insult him, spit on him, flog him and kill him. On he third day he will rise again.”
Jesus’ triumphal entry to Jerusalem ( Matthew 21;5 John 12;15 )
“The next day the great crowd that had come for the feast heard that Jesus was on his way to Jerusalem. They took palm branches and went out to meet him, shouting, Hosanna! Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord! Blessed is the King of Israel! Jesus found a young donkey and sat upon it, as it is written in Zechariah 9;9;
“ Rejoice greatly, o Daughter of Zion, Shout Daughter of Jerusalem!
See your king comes to you righteous and having salvation, gentle and riding on a donkey,
On a colt, the foal of a donkey.”
The Old and the New Testament tells us about why Jesus came to die;
Isaiah 53 ;5
“He was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities, the punishment that brought us peace was upon him and by his wound we are healed.”
See; Hebrew 10; 14 “(…) by one sacrifice he has made perfect for ever those who are being made holy.”
Hebrew 9;26 “(… he has appeared once for all at the end of the ages to do away with sin by the sacrifice of himself.”
Psalm 22; 7 tells us details about what Jesus was facing on the cross and all these things happened exactly how they were described in the Old Testament;
“All who see me mock me, they hurl insults, shaking their heads. He trusts in the Lord let the Lord rescue him, let him deliver him since he delights in him.”
( fulfilled in the New Testament in Mathew 27;39, Mark 15; 29 Luke 23;35)
Psalm 22; 16-18
“(..) they have pierced my hands and my feet. I can count all my bones. People stare and gloat over me.
They divide my garments among them and cast lots for my clothing.”
( fulfilled in the New Testament in Matthew 27; 35 Mark 15; 24 Luke 23;34 John 19; 24 )
Psalm 69;21
“ They put gall in my food and gave me vinegar for my thirst.”( fulfilled in the New testament in Matthew 27;48 Mark 15; 36 John 19;28-29)
Psalm 34;20, Numbers 9;12 , Exodus 12;46,
“ He protects all his bones, not one of them will be broken.
(Fulfilled in John 19; 33-36 )” But when they came to Jesus and found that he was already dead, they did not break his leg”
Zechariah 11; 12-13 tells us about Jesus that would be betrayed for 30 silver coins
“ If you think it best, give me my pay, but if not keep it. So they paid me thirty pieces of silver. And the Lord said to me ; throw it to the potter – the handsome price at which they priced me.”
( fulfilled in Matthew 27; 3-9) ” When Judas , who had betrayed him, saw that Jesus was condemned, he was seized with remorse and returned the thirty silver coins to the chief priests and the elders.”
v.6 ” The chief priests picked up the coins and said; ” it is against the law to put this into the treasury , since it is bloody money.”
v.9 ” Then what was spoken by Jeremiah the prophet was fulfilled; They took the thirty silver coins, the price set on him by the people of Israel.”
About Jesus conquering death;
Matthew 28;6 The angel said ” I know that you are looking for Jesus , who was crucified . He is not here , he has risen, just as he said. Come and see the place where he lay”
We learn that God gives us salvation while we believe in Jesus;
Romans 10;9 “If you confess with your mouth ” Jesus is Lord” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.”
Galatians 3; 11 ” Clearly no-one is justified before God by the law, because ;” The righteous will live by faith.”
Hebrew 2;14 If you know Jesus there is no fear of death for you;
”
Since the children have flash and blood, he too shared in their
humanity so that by his death he might destroy him who holds the power
of death- that is , the devil, and free those who all their lives
were held in slavery by their fear of death.”
The place where you are going to spend your eternity depends on your relationship with Christ. He that believes on the Son has everlasting life: and he that believes not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abides on him.
( John 3;36)
“Whoever acknowledges me before others, I will also acknowledge before my Father in heaven. 33 But whoever disowns me before others, I will disown before my Father in heaven." Matthew 10;32-33
Who is the Promised One?
"The Promised One" is the study based on the books of Isaiah, Zechariah and Psalms. It lets you find your own answer to the following; Who is the One the scriptures are promising? We will find out that He is a descendant of Abraham, born of a virgin, called 'precious cornerstone' Isaiah 28;16,
"He will be given the name; Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting father, Prince of Peace" Isaiah 9;6,
" The One judging and seeking justice and hastening righteousness" Isaiah 16;5,
He will be "the light to the Gentiles and bringing salvation to the ends of the earth " Isaiah 42;6 & Isaiah 49';6,
'"The One opening the eyes of the blind" Isaiah 42;7, the One whose voice we should obey- Isaiah 50;10,
and based on Isaiah 53;11 "The One who had to suffer for our sin to justify many"
verse.3. "despised, rejected by men, the man of pains,we did not value him",
v.5 "wounded for our transgressions, crushed because of our sins, the punishment that brought us peace was upon him and by his wound we are healed"
The verse .6 explains ; " We all like sheep went astray, we turned each one to his own way, yet Adonai laid on him the guilt of all of us."
v.7. " led as a lamb to the slaughter"
v.8. "for transgressions of my people he was stricken",
v.11. " My righteous Servant shall justify many , for he shall bear their iniquities",
In verse 12 it is said; " Therefore I will assign him a share with the great, he will divide the spoil with the strong for having exposed himself to death and being counted among the sinners,
while actually bearing the sin of many and interceding for the offenders."
Zechariah 12;8-10 "The One coming with the clouds! Every eye will see Him, including those who pierced Him"
The question is simple like the first verse in the book of Isaiah " Who believes our report, to whom is the arm of Adonai revealed?"
This study below shows also details about the person of Yeshua ( Jesus) and describes the facts that took place 2000 years ago. It's goal is not to convince you of anything but it lets you find the answer for yourself.
Has it ever been any person that would fit so greatly with every detail to the given promise in the scriptures, the man so righteous, whose name is known all over the earth, the man who was killed and rose again after 3 days?
Based on Old Testament prophecy we know that the Messiah had to suffer first. Starting with the Genesis 3;15 "(...) he will bruise your head and you will bruise his heel."
Have you read ( in Luke 24;15-35) about disappointed disciples who lost their hope seeing their Yeshua crucified? And then on the way to Emmaus, they shared their disappointment with the man that came up to them ( They didn't know it was their resurrected Yoshua who came up to them )
They said "We were hoping that it was He who was going to redeem Israel, (...) today it is the third day since these things( his crucifiction ) happened." And he said to them;
" Foolish people! So unwilling to put your trust in everything the prophets spoke! Didn't the Messiah have to die like this before entering his glory?" And then he explained them all the things that could be found in the Scriptures written about him.
In The New Testament in Matthew 1;20-23 we read
Yeshua (Jesus) was born of a virgin; an angel said to Mary ” that she will bring forth a Son and that His name will be Jesus and that He will save His people from sins” v.22 ” So all this was done that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the Lord through the prophet , saying; ” Behold the virgin shall be with child, and bear a Son, and they shall call His name Immanuel, which is translated ‘God with us”.
descendant of Abraham;
Matthew 1 starts with words; ” The book of genealogy of Jesus Christ , the Son of David, the Son of Abraham.”
The promise that was made to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, founders of the Jewish family, a promise later renewed to Kind David, that one of their descendants would reign over the nations forever
( see Gen 28;14, 2 Sam7;16) Yeshua fit the prophet’s description in every detail and was hailed by thousands of Jews as Messiah. ( John 19;38-39, Acts 6;7)
"stricken for transgressions of My people" " shall bear their iniquities" "wounded for our transgressions"
Jesus knew that he would be killed in Jerusalem and that he would rise again on the third day;
Luke 18;31-33
Jesus took the Twelve aside and told them, “ We are going up to Jerusalem and everything that is written by the prophets about the Son of Man will be fulfilled. He will be handed over to the Gentiles . They will mock him, insult him, spit on him, flog him and kill him. On he third day he will rise again.”
" The one who comes in the name of the Lord" ( Matthew 21;5 John 12;15 )
“The next day the great crowd that had come for the feast heard that Jesus was on his way to Jerusalem. They took palm branches and went out to meet him, shouting, Hosanna! Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord! Blessed is the King of Israel! Jesus found a young donkey and sat upon it, as it is written in Zechariah 9;9;
“ Rejoice greatly, o Daughter of Zion, Shout Daughter of Jerusalem!
See your king comes to you righteous and having salvation, gentle and riding on a donkey,
On a colt, the foal of a donkey.”
"My righteous Servant shall justify many " " Presented himself as a guilt offering" " mocked and insulted" prophecied in Isaiah 53;10 and Pslam 22

Hebrew 9;26 “(… he has appeared once for all at the end of the ages to do away with sin by the sacrifice of himself.”
Psalm 22; 7 tells us details about what Jesus was facing on the cross and all these things happened exactly how they were described;
“All who see me mock me, they hurl insults, shaking their heads. He trusts in the Lord let the Lord rescue him, let him deliver him since he delights in him.”
The same words we find in the New Testament in Matthew 27;39, (Mark 15; 29 Luke 23;35)
" And those who passed by blasphemed him, wagging their heads; and saying; ' You who destroy the temple and build it in 3 days, save yourself! If you are the Son of God, come down from the cross."

The one betrayed for 30 silver coins , Zechariah 11; 12-13
“ If you think it best, give me my pay, but if not keep it. So they paid me thirty pieces of silver. And the Lord said to me ; throw it to the potter – the handsome price at which they priced me.”
( fulfilled in Matthew 27; 3-9) ” When Judas, who had betrayed him, saw that Jesus was condemned, he was seized with remorse and returned the thirty silver coins to the chief priests and the elders.”
v.6 ” The chief priests picked up the coins and said; ” it is against the law to put this into the treasury , since it is bloody money.”
v.9 ” Then what was spoken by Jeremiah the prophet was fulfilled; They took the thirty silver coins, the price set on him by the people of Israel.”
He is the One defending those who are living in Jerusalem and the One who was pierced; Zechariah 12;8-10
"When that day comes, I will seek to destroy all nations attacking Yerushalayim and I will pour out on the house of David and on those living in Yerushalayim a spirit of grace and prayer and they will look to me, whom they pierced. They will mourn for Him as one mourns for an only son, they will be in bitterness on His behalf"

When the other disciples told him; 'We have seen the Lord' he replied ;'Unless I see the nail marks in his hands, put my finger into the place where the nails were and put my hand into his side, I refuse to believe it! A week later Yeshua's disciples were in the room and this time Thomas was with them. Although the doors were locked , Yeshua came, stood among them and said " Shalom aleikhem" Then he said to Thomas; 'Put your finger here, look at my hands, take your hand and put it into my side . Don't be lacking in trust but have trust!'Thomas answered him;' My Lord and my God."

The One who could perform so many miracles, raise the dead ones to life, calm down the storm, make the blind to see, paralyzed ones to walk, cast out demons, - why didn't He choose to save himself? Why did he offer himself on the Festival of Unleavened Bread? ( Passover)

" For God so loved the world , that He gave his only begotten Son, so that whoever believes in Him, shall not perish but have everlasting life." John 3;16
As we read in Romans 8;1 “Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.”
